After living for several years in the Middle East, Marco Rensma turned back to the Netherlands for studying Economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and Political Science at the Universities of Leiden and Amsterdam with a specialization in “International Relations”. Furthermore, he studied ‘International Development in the Political Economy’ at the London School of Economics (UK), and followed a management program at Harvard (USA).

Marco has worked for many years in both the public and private sector. His work has been aimed at promoting the business climate in the Netherlands. He has done numerous market surveys and advice to companies and governmental organisations on private sector developments. Besides his work and studies, Marco has travelled to many countries both within and outside Europe including Morocco, Tunisia, Kenya, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and the United States.

In 2010 Marco began a new challenge. He started the private company MEYS Emerging Markets Research. MEYS Emerging Markets Research performs high quality international market research for Dutch companies. It focuses its activities on entrepreneurs who are looking for new market opportunities in the emerging Markets of Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, and Asia. In so doing, MEYS Emerging Markets Research uses local expertise and networks.

Next to his company Marco Rensma is parttime lecturer Global Marketing for the Bachelor Degree programme International Business and Management Studies at the Hague University of Applied Sciences.
